What is it about horses that attract certain people?  Or…what is it about certain people that they are attracted to horses.  Winston Churchill once said…”the outside of a horse is good for the inside of man” and it’s the combination, the desires, dreams and goals that we strive to complete, with the journey the most important venture.

Arial view of Stokely Farms in 1990
Nestled in the southwest corner of Missouri, (a hop skip and throw from the infamous Branson,) Stokely Farms was established in 1988 by Christine and David Stokely. and their two (then young) sons Jonathan and Thomas. Nestled in the beauty and serenity of the Ozark Mountains Stokely Farms is surrounded by a rich history.
For those that are Civil War Buffs, our farm is located Close to the historic Old Wire Road, the path the Civil War reenactors took from Pea Ridge, AR in route to the Battle at Wilson’s Creek. Our farm is situated in direct route soldiers took after the “Battle at Dug Spring” in route to the historic “Battle at Wilson’s Creek” which is only a 5 minute drive away. The Old Wire Road was also the path for the historic “Butterfield Stage Coach”

The Stokelys were selected as the Christian County Missouri State Fair Farm Family by the Christian County Extension Council and local Farm Bureau. Each year the fair sets aside a day to recognize farm families who are active in their community, involved in agricultural activities and who participate in local outreach and extension educational programs such as 4-H and FFA.
